It seems to me that people can hurt each other so casually and think that it is OK. The other person should “grow some balls” or “not be so sensitive”.
But we are each individuals and what hurts us is what hurts us. It makes no difference if someone else finds it acceptable. We have our own unique history. It doesn’t matter what YOU feel about it. It doesn’t really matter if you “didn’t mean it like that”. What you are doing is causing damage to another and you are being made aware of this. Listen!
If someone tells you that your behaviour is hurting them and you continue to repeat the same behaviours, then don’t be surprised when they walk away.
Everybody is fighting a battle. Let’s try being kinder to each other (and ourselves – hurt people hurt other people).
